Dana is a health economist with more than 25 years of experience in health investments and financing, providers’ payment mechanisms, analysis, design and implementation of health systems reforms programmes, advisory services for public/private partnerships in health, and implementation of public health programs in priority areas. Dana holds a Medical Doctor Degree, a Master’s degree in Social and health services management, a Master’s degree in Political science and a postgraduate degree in Health economics. Before joining the European Investment Bank she worked for more than 15 years with international organizations such as the World Bank, USAID, IFC (health PPP advisory) and WHO. Other professional experiences include coordination of several health sector reform projects in countries like Romania and Turkey; and teaching in the postgraduate Health management and Health economics programs at the Romanian National School of Public Health and Health Services Management. Until 2022, she was the President of the Patients’ Classification Systems professional organization (PCSI). At the EIB, Dana worked for 9 years as a senior health economist, responsible for health investment projects preparation, appraisal, economic evaluation, as well as development of new instruments and programs for the health sector within the Bank. Since September 2022 she is the Head of the LSH division.
