Katarzyna Świeczkowska is a parent of a person with disability. She is an educator, co – founder and a principal of an educational centre for children with special educational needs in Gdańsk.

Katarzyna is a Vicepresident of the Polish Assocciation for Persons with Intellectual Disability in Gdansk, a parental organisation which runs 9 different centres supporting people with disability at different stages and in different areas of their life.

Since 2020 Katarzyna has been collaborating with European Academy of Childhood Disability and been a co-leader of the resource group in IAACD COVID-19 task force group.

Katarzyna Świeczkowska is a co-founder and a member of the Polish Academy of Childhood Disability.

Katarzyna is a member of the European Patients Advocacy Group at the European Reference Network ITACHA, a member of the Patients Advocacy Group at the Rare Diseases Centre at the Medical University of Gdansk. For several years she has been involved with CARAVAN 2000, European Movement for Diversity and Understanding as a member of the board and for two years has collaborated with Gdańsk Centre for Equal Treatment.

Katarzyna is a trainer, organiser and a presenter in various events dedicated to families and professionals working with children with disabilities, both locally and internationally.
