Andreas D. Rosenberger is Head of centre at the National Neuromuscular Centre, Norway (NMK). The centre is located at the University Hospital of North-Norway in Tromso, and is unit under The National Advisory Unit on Rare Disorders (NKSD).
NKSD is governmental entity consisting of nine different centres, with a national responsibility to provide the health-care and educational sector, as well as patients and the general public, with updated information on rare disordes. The vision is to «Make the rare visible through improved knowledge and cooperation».
Andreas has a background as a clinical specialist in neurological physiotherapy, working within the field of rare neuromuscular disorders. Clinical work and participation in research projects in the field over years, have given insight into what barriers persons living with a rare disease meets. These insights have laid a foundation for the current interest towards enhancing quality of services and reducing inequalities throughout established and proposed care pathways and networks in Norway and internationally.
