Eduard Pellicer Arasa has been working in the Palliative Care and Chronic Complex Patient Service in a paediatric hospital since 2018. They accompany patients and families during the different vital processes such as diagnosis, family adaptation, schooling, transition to adulthood and end of life. Eduard provides care at the hospital, home and community services, as well as primary health care centres, social services, schools and high schools. Part of the work involves raising awareness among different services and professionals about the needs arising from diseases, especially rare diseases. Not only physical but also social and emotional needs. Eduard cares for both patients and their families, individually and group therapy care. They promote mutual support between families and try to promote meeting spaces that allow interaction between different families. Eduard is part of an interdisciplinary team of paediatricians, nurses, psychologists and spiritual care staff, and specializes in caring for children with dermatological diseases, such as epidermolysis bullosa or ichthyosis, neurological, such as Rett syndrome or Cerebral Palsy and patients with tracheotomy or parenteral nutrition.
